Calzones
like an empanada made out of pizza.
This recipe is stolen from here.
Ingredients
(the portions for this one are primarily vibes based)
- pizza dough
- all-purpose flour
- pizza sauce
- shredded mozzarella
- ricotta
- pepperoni
- extra virgin olive oil
- kosher salt
Directions
- Preheat oven to 500°. Grease two baking sheets. Divide up pizza dough into smaller portions.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll one portion of dough out into a circle. Spoon pizza sauce into the center, sprinkle some mozzarella into the center. You can also add ricotta or pepperoni if thats your style.
- Fold the dough in half. Dampen the seams and pinch them together. Crimp the edges with a fork. Move this to one of the baking sheets.
- Repeat the last two steps until your out of dough
- Brush the top of each with the oil, and sprinkle salt on top. Stab them 2-3 times to make steam vents, unless you want them to explode, which would be fun (leave you quite the clean up though).
- Cook for 10 minutes. Take them out and brush the tops with oil. Cook for 10 more minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes
